HOW CAN WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THIS
Through the conversion of natural light to electricity – The procedure is different to current solar water heating equipment that are less efficient and require additional water pipes with storage tanks offset.
HOW DOES IT WORK
By utilising a process called Photovoltaic (or PV for short), which generates electricity from normal daylight being absorbed by silicon solar cells firmly fixed to the roof of your property.
When the electricity created by the silicon solar cells is not being used, will be transferred back into electricity suppliers at a premium rate (from April 2010) then acquired back from the power supplier at your standard tariff (approximately half the charge of the premium tariff) if there is no natural light and you are in need of electricity.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING SOLAR ENERGY
- A clean, green and renewable energy.
- Works with natural light the whole year round.
- Enhance the value of your property
- Power Companies will buy back your extra electricity at 41.3p per/unit from April 2010
- Guaranteed for 25 years with a life expectancy of 40 years and no maintenance
- Ultra quiet running
- Reduce the impact of global warming.
- Limited space required for Installation.
- No planning permission required. (in most situations…)
If all suitable roofs in the United Kingdom was installed with solar photovoltaic’s (PV), we would surpass the countries complete electricity requirements. Utilising Solar PV technology there is a tremendous opportunity to provide non polluting, sustainable clean energy.
WHAT IS SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC
“Photovoltaic” is a conjunction of two words: “photo”, from Greek roots, signifying light, and “voltaic”, derived from “volt”, which is the unit used to measure electric potential at a given point.
Photovoltaic systems use cells to convert solar radiation into electricity. The cell is comprised of one or two layers of a semi-conducting material. When light shines on the cell it produces an electric field across the layers, causing electricity to flow. The greater the power of the light, the greater the flow of electricity is.
The best known semi conductor material used in photovoltaic cells is silicon, an element readily available in sand. With no limit to its availability as a raw material as silicon is the second most plentiful substance on the planet.
A photovoltaic panel will not need bright sunlight to work. It can also generate electricity on overcast days. Due to the reflection of sunlight, slightly cloudy days can even result in superior energy outputs than days with a clear blue sky.
The package can be fitted with minimum disturbance, has a 25 year guarantee and the best part – there is government grants presently available (in Scotland). We are also able to provide a very attractive finance package – why not give us a call for a survey right away and get your “ELECTRICITY FOR FREE”.
